We are so grateful in so many ways to Nonnie and Pawpaw for everything they do for us. One of the ways that we are continually blessed by them is through the hard work that is put in at their land that we as a family benefit from through fresh yard eggs, produce, nuts, beans, sausage, chicken and baby food. That's right we have Nonnie hard at work helping in the process of baby food making. As soon as the produce is ready we can't always make the 3.5 hour trip to collect the goods so Nonnie is kind enough to slice it all up,can it or put it in a freezer bag and hold onto it until we get a sweet visit from her. I am so thankful that I know exactly where Arabelle's food comes from and how it is prepared. Making baby food is super easy and economical, especially if you get the supplies for free :)
Here are some Apples that Nonnie canned for us. They were canned with water only, no sugar water! This was as simple as pouring the can into the food processor and pulsing until it reached a smooth consistency. This same process was repeated for
Once it has reached the desired consistency I poured it into ice cube trays, froze them solid, removed and placed in a freezer bag.
In less than 1.5 hours I made around 100 servings or carrots, peaches, apples, pears, and squash. I can't wait to make more!
Here is a clip of her first taste at some of Pawpaw's peaches. I'm sure she will have a better appreciation for them once she is a little bit older and they are a bit sweeter.
