Blessed to be Mommy

Today I celebrate one of the greatest gifts one could have and that is to be a mother. I am so blessed to hear the sweet words "ma ma" come out of Arabelle's mouth all day long. I love the way she clings to my neck when she doesn't want me to let go. I love the way she kisses my face. I love the way she crawls in my lap when we're playing together on the floor. I love the way I can feel her love for me.

I'm so thankful to Jesus he chose me to be a mother. It is a role I know I was designed for and desired to fulfill my entire life. When I was a little girl I would spend hours building forts and making it a home for my little family and now my dreams are lived out every day in this little home of ours in Brenham, Texas. Beginning at 7:15 every morning and ending at 8:00 pm every night I feed, play, laugh, love, teach, nurture, care, pray, soothe and discipline. The Lord has taught me so much about himself to me as a parent. I understand the love of Christ. I comprehend his sacrifice and at the same time I don't understand his sacrifice. The love I have for my husband is unexplainable, as a mother there is no better sight than to see your husband as a Daddy to your baby. My life has so much life to it now. I was created to be called Mommy.

Two of the most beautiful moments in my life.

  4. There isn't a better job in the world than being a mom. Little Arabelle was holding your thumb within minutes of being born. She knew she could trust Mom to take care of her.
