Big Girl

It's a no picture post because blogger won't upload my pics right now. I'll keep trying but until then I'll just post it and you can think of a sweet little girl doing these big girl things.

I seriously can't believe what a big girl I have at my feet helping me all day. I feel like I'm experiencing so many learning webs in her brain throughout the day. She's always putting together what our daily routine is and now she has become so much help.

Some things I want to remember

Yesterday while unloading the groceries I dumped off at the door I hear her grunting through the living room, I look over and find her carrying the huge package of toilet paper...she carried it all the way to our bathroom where we store it.

When I was filling up my water at the refrigerator door she opened up her cabinet, grabbed a cup and placed it directly on the water lever so I filled it up for her and crossed my fingers she wouldn't just spill it on the floor....she drank the whole thing and was so proud of herself.

When we are trying to get ready to leave she has now noticed I am collecting everything in order to get out the door, she has now started to bring my shoes to me and helps me put them on.

So with this beautiful weather we have been spending more time outside and yesterday we were pulling out all the old plants to get ready for the fall garden. Arabelle of course was a big helper and pulled of the last of our tomato's..ready or not....they came off. She also decided to give dirt a try and soon discovered it's not as tasty as the stuff that grows in the dirt.

She has also started to enjoy watching Elmo. She loves dancing to the songs and knows when it's coming....if she is lounging on the couch and hears the tune she will instantly get up and start dancing

This past week Matt got a day off in the middle of the week...for the we took advantage of our mid-week day together and went to Houston to do something on our summer to-do list that didn't get done because it was too crazy busy. We went to the Houston Aquarium. We had been together when we were dating and we were so excited to share something new with Arabelle. We talked about how this is one of the great Joy's of being parents....taking your child to experience something new and exciting.

Arabelle enjoyed herself...she enjoyed that we were the only people there and that because of that she got to walk the aquarium by her big girl self. She got a little scared at some of the noises and on some of the rides. Matt loved that she would cling to him for protection....melt my heart.

New Camera!!!

My new camera came in the mail this weekend and I was itching to snap away. I'm still learning the ins and outs of it but with youtube, and Lynsey I should improve in no time. And let me just say that my husband is AMAZING!!! That boy worked like 3 extra little side gigs in order to save up the money to make this purhase. Yeah....he's pretty special.

So Sunday evening we went to the park so I could mess with some of the settings...I didn't always have it in focus and the exposure is off, I'm just glad they aren't blurry and actually came out.

I'm going to post a sequence of pictures of the scene that unfloded before me...It makes me so thankful to capture moments like these.

Arabelle had just been let out of the stroller when she realized there were some girls playing on the same soccer field...this is pretty special because she is usually just there playing with her parents and puppy so other kids = awesome.
She spotted these girls and used all her little cute tricks to get them to give her some attention and as you will see it worked pretty well.

I don't even think there's a need for captions.... I love the JOY she has for others. I love her ability to accept a person without a thought or passing judgment. She loves life.

Aggieland with Family

This past weekend the Wigley Family decided to make a trip down here to pay us a visit. It was a Football filled weekend as we hit up the Friday night lights at Cub Stadium to support Matt and then Saturday we headed to College Station for the first Aggie home game of the season. It had been at least four years since Matt and I were standing at Kyle Field. We were so excited to share the traditions of A&M  Football with family.

One of the many traditions of the game is that after A&M makes a touchdown you are supposed to give your girl a kiss....This might be Arabelle's favorite tradition so far....she loved all the sugars she was getting.

Addie Also wanted in on the action as she loves on her Arabelle.

Arabelle was having fun watching the game with Uncle Scott and Mommy and Daddy were enjoying the break from holding her.

There aren't too many pictures of Addie at the would have found her bumming peanuts off of the little girl behind us. Pretty Cute!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA....Gig 'em Aggies!!!

We decided to leave the game a bit early so we could grab a bite to eat at Freebirds....we were walking back to our cars only to find they were no longer there...GONE! TOWED!!! THAT'S RIGHT!

Insert happy picture of us eating our burritos at Freebirds here:

Instead we were sent on a wild goose chase for our cars. It's nice how they don't leave any information in regards to where your car might be or how to get in contact with someone. Luckily the Wigleys had just upgraded to internet on their phone so we were able to start the search. Then...we found out our cars were in two very different locations....long story short we waited at the tow place to pick up the cars only to find they were out trying to get more cars towed so they would not be back for a while. Matt was stranded on the side of the road with Arabelle and Peyton because the friend who gave us a ride to the tow company did not have carseats and we weren't going to take any chances. So Arabelle stayed up until 2AM after the A&M game and was a trooper the whole time....even without dinner.
This was not the experience we were looking for but maybe someday we can laugh about it. I'm just not laughing anytime soon about taking someones vehicle with infant leave them stranded....also not laughing anytime soon about tow companies not having someone at their business to allow people to pay for their mistake and move on...don't make them wait in the HOOD for 3 hours. Ok....I'm done.

All in all we had a great weekend with family and the Aggies won!
