I've waited my whole life for this moment

Since I was a little girl being in the kitchen was just a part of life. I loved helping, creating, tasting and sharing as a result of time in the kitchen. One thing I have dreamed about was the day that I had children to share in this passion.
When we woke up Monday morning it just felt like a waffle kinda day and it occurred to me that my little helper might want to take part in making our breakfast.

Let me just tell you this girl was all business, she's going to be a serious helper. You won't find her taking any breaks or forgetting her tasks.

You know what's about to happen........

Yup....raw egg doesn't taste so good. She didn't do any "sampling" again.

I can't wait for more kitchen adventures and messes. The flour that dusted the kitchen, batter that ran down the high chair and onto the floor is worth every bit of sharing in this passion together.

Waited for this day his whole life

Matt has ALWAYS been a Rangers fan, tried and true he roots for Blue. I remember when we first met and one of the things he wanted me to experience was a Rangers game. My first Rangers game was back in 2007, I'll be honest...this is how I felt about it.

Fast forward to this past Friday.........the Rangers are doing well and putting up a pretty good fight for a chance in the World Series and I get a phone call around 9am that morning from my sweet husband begging asking me if he could purchase some of the last tickets online for tonight's game. It's rare for Matt to not have a  game on a Friday night and it just happened to be by chance that the Cubs didn't play until Saturday so Matt was a free man.
I didn't even have to ask the cost or how bad he wanted to go, I knew that boy needed to go see his Rangers play.....so my lazy day Friday became a whirlwind of packing, cleaning, and planning. We hit the road and didn't look back.
We got to Frost around 5:20 and setup Arabelle to stay with her Nonnie and Pawpaw for the first time without Mommy and Daddy. It was hard for me but I knew she was in safe hands. Then we booked it to Arlington, we somehow missed the traffic by being a bit late, got a great parking spot and made it into the stadium before the fly over.

Once we were in the stadium the feeling was something electric. It was a packed house and everyone was filled with excitement. We were in the cheap seats, you know the ones where they don't even check your ticket anymore but it didn't matter, every level, every row, every person was into the game. Like good ol' Aggies we stood the whole time and celebrated every advance with a smooch.

I was filled with JOY watching my sweet husband relish in the excitement of the game. And then......the Rangers won and it marked one of the highlights in Matt's life. I'm so happy he was there to be a part of it. He kept saying, "I've waited for this my whole life."

You might see me collecting cans off the side of the road for the next few weeks but it was worth every penny.

The next morning we woke up early to head back home and when we told little Miss about the win...she was pretty excited.

Here's some shaky footage of the win.

Lemon Rosemary Fizz {dELicous DriNk}

I must admit....I'm having a love affair with Lemon Rosemary Fizz
It  takes me to my happy place
It's a party in my mouth
I look forward to this drink during nap time and after the little miss is tucked away in bed
It's kinda my only pregnancy craving
It could become a problem
BUT
I don't care
I'll keep drinking this blend of delicious flavors that was sent straight from heaven until I run out of Rosemary to clip out of the garden

Natalie introduced me to this drink and I will forever thank her for it. She has the recipe on her blog but I will share it with you as well. BUT go on over and check her out, you can trust that any recipe you might find on her blog is a winner-like for reals!

Bring 5 cups of water to a boil
Add  2-2.5 cups of sugar & 4  Rosemary sprigs and let simmer for about 10 minutes
Allow mixture to cool and then mix it with
2 cans of lemonade concentrate
1 can of pineapple concentrate
1.5 cups of fresh squeezed lemon

Keep this in a container in the icebox and when your ready to serve mix equal parts of the base mixture with sprite or ginger ale.

Rub some oil on your face

Okay..So I'm about to get all hippy on ya..... even though I grew up with a good friend that lived in a converted school bus with an outhouse whose parents made moccasins for a living AND had a  babysitter that was a belly dancer with hair so long it swept the floor I don't call myself a granola woman but I do love a life of simplicity and the absence of chemicals and scary stuff in the things we use and consume as a family.

It's obvious that often times the food we consume comes from a scary place with scary ingredients in it but what about the products we clean our bodies with? Humm.... that opens a whole other can of worms.

I began to wonder how safe my face-wash was if it was bleaching the towel I DRIED my face with.
My dear friend Lynsey opened me up to the idea of the Oil Cleansing Method. I'm not going to re-write everything that is already so well written so go on over and read up even if your not ready to give it a try the article has a lot of good information that makes you go, hugh?

I know most of you think I'm crazy to suggest that you rub oil on your face but when you think about it....Acid...scares me a bit more than oil now that I think about it.

My face has never felt better and I love this part of my nighttime routine.

Right now I'm using a mixture of Castor oil and Coconut oil and I love the smell the coconut oil leaves me with.

I'm back

So it seems that all I needed to do was restart my computer to solve the glitch.

We had a doctors appointment yesterday. I'm 14 weeks along, feeling great and got to hear a strong healthy heart. No ultrasound :(

Arabelle points to my belly and says "baby" then points to her belly and proudly says "baby."

We are spending lots of time outside loving this weather but hating the allergies it brings. I'll take the good with the bad.

A sweet family got Arabelle her very first little Cub outfit and she wore it to her first pep rally last week.
We had a special treat in store for us at the pep rally. One of my favorite former students was selected as the honorary mascot for the pep rally because the girl who is nomally the mascot was in the Homecoming Court. It melted my heart to see her get the chance to do something that meant the world to her.

And just because I love her in deep concentration....

Going A Bit Crazy

If anybody can help me figure out this Blogger picture uploading problem you will win an award. Please help.....anybody out there.

It has to do with the new format that has the 4 different photo uploading options...1. from File (Browse) 2. From Blog, 3. From Picassa, 4. From URL.

Since Blogger has switched to the new format I have not been able to upload any pictures. I select an image from the Browser and the timer just turns and turns and turns never completing the upload.

I would love to Blog again but until then.......
