Little Miss & Her New {School Room}

Remember the little table set Little Miss got for her second Birthday?

Well, that little table in the corner has become her favorite spot in the house. Every morning she begins her day with some coloring and crafting while I make breakfast and then she begs to eat "at tay---bull." I'm a believer in using a space for what is most functional for your life and not necessarily what it was intended for. So this "should be" dining space was in need of a functional face-lift and that's just what it got this last week.

 I already had most of the items to pull this space together but the one thing I had on my radar was an old school room chalkboard. When I went out to Round Top I looked high and low for one and couldn't find anything under the price of $200. I was pretty bummed about it and on the way home I passed the used office supply shop that I pass every day and saw this chalkboard sitting outside. I did a quick u-turn and begged asked if they would sell it to me.....he said, "sure! how's $10 bucks?" Umm...yeah!

I sanded and stained it with a walnut stain to give it a richer look. I Luv it!

I made the cubbyholes out of peach crates from my friends Dad's peach orchard in Stonewall, Texas.

- I got the fabulous paper dispenser at The Brown Shed sale last weekend. I'm pretty sure we're going to      blow through that roll in no time!
- The tables and chairs are from various thrift stores and junk finds, found them piece by piece and painted them all to match.
- The bunting is made from an old record book from the early 1900's.
- The Zebra was a gift and is from Pier 1 Imports.

It's my new favorite spot in the house....maybe because it's my girls favorite little spot.

 Oh....and this little guy loves to watch his Sissy play from afar.

  1. Such a cute space! I'm inspired. I told my husband recently that I need to "spruce up" Little Miss E's play area . . . this has me more motivated than ever! Nice job - I bet your little one just loves it!
