Play-dough {recipe}

 Hey y'all! We made some homemade play-dough last week and at 6 days old and a lot of use it's still super soft, moldable and going strong. I say this with excitement because I've tried recipes in the past that haven't produced a good quality product so I'm really happy to share this one with you.

Soft and Scented Play Dough
1 cup of warm water
1 cup of flour
1/4 cup of salt
1 T vegetable oil
2 tsp cream of tarter
2 T kool aid powder (for added color and scent)

Mix all ingredients in a saucepan and stir with a spatula or wooden spoon until it clumps into a ball. Once it gathers into a ball, place it on some wax paper and knead with your hands to work out the clumps (my favorite part.) Once it cools down it's ready to go! I have been storing mine in a Ziploc baggie and it's doing great.

  1. Super Cool! Thanks for sharing this. The last time we made homemade play dough it smelled so weird my kids didn't even want to play with it HA!

  2. So, I just bought the koolaid packets this morning so I could make this. I was going to have to hunt around to find where I put the recipe . . . but you posted it! Thanks! I have also read that you can add glitter!!! My little gal loves glitter anything!

  3. I have been making homemade playdough for years. It is so easy to make and cheaper than store bought. Kids never get tired of playing with it. I don't always make it with Kool Aid...you can also just use a couple drops of food coloring, but I made it with the Kool Aid last time and my boys loved the smell of the playdough.

  4. Thanks for this!! I have tried several homemade play dough recipes but we haven't found one yet that we really like. This one is great! My kids are playing with the play dough I made right now and are requesting more colors :)
