Blocks,Baby and a Recipe

 Good afternoon friends! We are just hanging around the house today waiting to go to movie in the park tonight. I think we might be more excited about it than the kids. We have been ready to get out and about a little bit more now that we are spending all of our time together at home. Don't get me wrong, I love it but sometimes the walls feel like they're closing in on me. We need more free things to do in order to stay on target with our monthly budget. Summer is tricky, so much more to do but the same amount of money to do it. Do y'all have a summer bucket list of free activities you could share? Maybe we need to create a summer budget like we do for Christmas? There's a good thought a little too late. Next year I guess.







 The kids are napping right now and I just finished editing a newborn session that I recently did. Isn't she absolutely precious? She was teeny tiny...like 5 lbs. I think I need another baby girl;)

We have been eating a lot of sandwiches lately and I want to share this recipe with you. It's by far my most favorite chicken salad sandwich recipe. Maybe because it's made with one of the best dressings you can buy. You should go check out Briannas Salad Dressing website for some good recipes. I haven't made anything from there that I didn't like.

Cha Cha Chicken Salad

4 chicken breasts, seasoned with Tony Chachere’s Creole Seasoning
16 oz. bag coleslaw that includes both red and green cabbage and carrots (didn't add this either)
1 1/2 cups red seedless grapes, sliced in half
1 1/2 cups celery, sliced thin
1 cup sliced walnuts, chopped medium (add before serving)
1 cup Asian pears, unpeeled (add before serving) ( I didn't have pears)
12 oz. BRIANNAS Rich Poppy Seed Dressing ( I only add enough to mix it well)
Salt and pepper, to taste

Grill seasoned chicken breast, cool and slice or cube. Mix cubed or sliced breasts with all other ingredients if serving immediately. Otherwise, add the pears and nuts when you are ready to serve. This will keep the pears from browning and walnuts from getting soggy. This is a fabulous salad for a light dinner or luncheon. Serve it on a leaf of red cabbage or leaf lettuce with a slice of fresh bakery bread on the side.

    And about the chicken salad: oh mercy!! I love Brianna's poppy seed dressing as well. I could eat it on nearly anything, though its not ideal for the waistline!

  3. Swim, swim, swim! Also we love Arts in the Park Wednesday mornings in Austin. Visiting the local fire department or police station. Ask your local pizzeria for a behind the scenes tour so the kiddos can see all that goes into their lunch. That goes ditto for grocery stores or any other business you frequent. It's cool for the babies to see how their community operates. And nothing beats splashing in the kiddie pool and shooting each other with water guns in the back yard.

  4. I'm pretty sure you live in the DFW area--we've found some fun splash parks around for free or nominal fees--one in Roanoke, Haltom City & Colleyville. There's a big cat rescue in Boyd that I think is free. And we are lucky to have a neighborhood pool that's big-time entertainment!

  5. Thanks y'all! We have been swimming outside in our little pool every chance we get.
    @Courtneytcu98- We don't live in that area but have family there. We might take a trip to DFW this summer to hit up some of those attractions.
