6th Anniversary

Yesterday we celebrated our sixth wedding anniversary. I'm not gonna lie, all year I thought we had been married for seven years. You know how some say they can't remember life before kids? Well, I can't remember life before Matt. Life is good with him. He blesses me, serves me, loves me, comforts me, challenges me, and puts up with me. We have grown so much since the day we committed ourselves to each other. When I look back on that day I realize that at that time we had no clue about the journey we were beginning. Many days my flesh gets in the way and I choose to serve myself above serving him and I realize I still feel lost in this thing called marriage. I'm so thankful that the Lord is our guide and reminds us how to serve and love. I love living life with this man. I feel blessed beyond measure.

So to celebrate our Anniversary we decided to have an unconventional date and do something we don't normally do and can't do easily with children. Yes, sharing a quiet meal is nice but I needed more. I needed to get away for a bit and unplug. I needed to have fun just the two of us. So, we borrowed our friends kayaks, picked up some burgers and set out for an evening picnic on the lake and then kayaked till sunset. My heart is so totally full I could cry. It was everything I needed. Just me and Matt enjoying God's creation. I didn't take my camera but I captured some shots with my iphone.

So, if you know of anybody wanting to sell some kayaks or old boats let me know because I'm sold!

  3. We share the same wedding anniversary! Yay! For us it's been 13 crazy awesome years. We wanted to do something a little different than dinner and a movie as well. Soooooo..... we went to the shooting range and pretended to be excellent marksmen;) Then, yes, the all important kid-less meal.;)
