This Week

We played outside a lot.
Ate the first of the Mulberries.
Played in Daddy's car a lot.
Got lots of Nellie kisses.
Went to see the neighbors rabbits a lot.
Can you tell we did the same things over and over again?
It was a good week. Beautiful weather and lots of down time together.

Here's another trend of the week.....

On Tuesday I picked up the bathroom rugs to wash and noticed the wood floor was looking darker than usual. I touched it and quickly realized we had a leak under our tub:( The hubby worked hard that night to figure out the problem and now this is what we are left with. Here's to getting it put back together this weekend. Because bathing an almost three year old in the kitchen sink is quite the challenge.

Photography Backdrop on the Cheap {DIY}

I recently did an in home client session and took a picture of the pull back to share with you guys. I want to show you how you can create a professional looking studio in your own home for less than $20.

What you will need:
2 yards of canvas fabric (fabric.com)
1 pre-painted and pre-cut section of beadboard paneling (Home Depot lumber department)
1 pre-painted section of a baseboard (Home Depot lumber department)

You will use the fabric to create your wall. I did this by clamping the fabric around a curtain rod and hanging it up high. Sorry I forgot to take pictures of this step.

Tuck some of the fabric under the beadboard paneling that you will be using as your floor. This will keep it tight and in place.

Then take the trim and use it as your baseboard to finish it off and make the space look "legit."

Make sure to face this setup across from an open window with plenty of natural light.

Right Now

I have both babies down for a nap at the SAME TIME! That hasn't happened in a long time! Wondered where I've been? There's your answer.

This morning as I was reading in the word and doing a devotional with Little Miss I was so blessed by her little devotion. It spoke to me so deeply and yet so simply.

"Anything can become an idol if it distracts you from Me - even my blessings." Wow! I needed to hear that this morning. I needed to read it in it's simple form. One of the greatest blessings I've experienced as a parent is viewing Christ through my children's eyes. To see him as a child does and not overcomplicated things. I have a tendency to do that. So, to read children Bible stories and devotions is sometimes rich and deep for my soul. I did not grow up on these stories so to some degree I missed this perspective. I enjoy reading this material and then going to my study Bible and drawing a deeper message. If your like me and sometimes need a visual or more "aid" in understanding his word, I encourage you to read from your children stories and then come back to the text in your Bible. God moves in many ways. He daily uses my children to sanctify me.

Insta-Friday

 Our week through my camera phone.

At the start of this warm week I realized that my babies were out of warm weather clothes and twice this week I have been blessed to find tubs of boy clothes on my porch. God is so good! Now I'm just waiting on the Just Between Friends Sale to get clothes for Little Miss and we should be good to go.

We have spent most of our days outside this week. It's been beautiful!

I have been blessed with a ton of photo sessions over the course of the last few weeks. Now that the sun is setting later this little guy is going to sleep while I'm gone. He's getting the hang of this bottle thing and I think it's adorable.

Evening walks

She's so cool!

We have had a wonderful week! After enjoying spring break last week we're just counting the days down until Daddy is home on summer break. We are still praying for God's timing on selling the 4Runner and buying the Odyssey. We have had  a few disappointing situations and I'm learning patience through the whole process. I'm also reminded that the Lord's will shall be done even in regards to our vehicle situation.

Howard {Family Session}

 This family was an absolute JOY to work with. I laughed so hard throughout this entire session that at one point I  had to set my camera down on the ground I was laughing so hard. Usually men aren't fond of picture taking but these guys were an absolute mess cracking jokes and silly poses that I'd go so far as to say they enjoyed the whole "photo shoot" process. Needless to say the smiles you see are genuine and the love this family has for one another is true.

Amplify your iphone

 I learned a little trick that I wanted to share with you! If you put your iphone speakers into a ceramic bowl it amplifies it. It makes it SOOO much louder. I like to put it in the bowl and then take it out just to remind myself of the difference. Go ahead and try it.

Random story for ya.... I usually listen to one song while unloading the dishwasher. Because I loathe unloading the dishes I try to make a fun game out of it by racing myself to finish the task within one song. I can usually unload everything during that one song. It keeps it fun, reminds me that it doesn't take near as long as I think it does and I get to listen to a fun song in the process. That's all. Hope y'all have a good one!

French Fry

When I was pregnant with Bubby I often wondered if he was going to attach to a special item that I carefully chose and placed in his nursery.Would it be a special blanket or teddy bear, or perhaps a plastic french fry from an assortment of play food? Yes...I think that will be what he will love and cherish and carry everywhere. A simple and unpredictable plastic french fry.

I'm so thankful it came with an "order" of fries and there are 7 total. I keep one on reserve just in case all others go missing. First thing in the morning he searches the house over until he finds a fry and he doesn't let it go.

Oh and y'all don't worry he doesn't put it in his mouth, he just carries it in his fist wherever he goes.
