I’ve been redoing my yard lately. Yes, my entire yard! Believe me when I say that Pete Alman doesn’t take a DIY effort lightly.
In addition to tearing up the lawn, removing a massively overgrown willow tree, and painting the inside of my house, I’m also putting in an entire new deck. Deciding what deck to put in was a serious effort itself, but eventually I settled on a contractor who would work alongside me to construct this bad boy (measuring 20 feet by 20 feet!).
Once the deck was in, I breathed a sigh of relief before realizing that the deck was completely lacking any paint or finish. Luckily I had my handy Graco Magnum Airless Paint Sprayer in the garage and I was good to go. I ended up giving the deck a nice finish of Sky Blue, and then polished it to finish up my summer project (which by that point had extended well into the fall!).
The oil piston on the Graco Magnum does leave a little something to be desired, and the company itself states that it is not for every day use. Luckily I’m not painting my damn deck everyday, otherwise I’d be a dead man!
Anyway, the Magnum is a great product for light use with certain types of paint (not acrylic), but I wouldn’t recommend it for anybody needing to apply it to an industrial project. Just my two cents!
